So, I told my uncle Poncho that I wanted to make chairs. ‘That’s easy!’ he said and took me to this house in Pescaito. Cristo Miranda’s desk factory where Henrry made the first Tucurinca.
We made PUPRE. The first Tucurinca chairs were manufactured in a school desk workshop in Pescaito. There, I met Cristo, Henrry, and Jorge. Jorge still works with us, producing Tucurincas.
A desk is essentially a school chair with a wooden backrest and seat. They were made to order for a project, and I stumbled upon this story. It may not look like a Tucurinca, but it’s an opportunity to understand that there are many ways to weave.
